So May Day was kind of a big deal for me. I can’t exactly put a finger on what it was but I felt a new refreshing wave wash over me (or maybe it was just the magic of having a Monday off from work) and it was the most relaxing day I have had in a long time. Then again, who would not feel relaxed hanging out in 25 degrees with a good friend and being surrounded by food and dance?
Fuengirola and the whole South Coast is pretty well known for loving a good party that lasts from a few days to a full week. Dancing, music and food all play an essential role in these festivals we here call Feria. As May Day is kind of a big deal to the Spaniards as well as to us who are from the northern Europe they really do make an effort to celebrate with a good feria every year.
This was my third Feria international de los Pueblos and I have to say it never gets boring as all the nationalities of the area are represented with food, dance, music and art.
You can see it from the look on my face that life is good especially when there’s so much food around me. Also, short bob/ pixie hair style is the worst to grow out...
I hope you had an amazing start for May as well!
